Holkham Bay Coffee Beans
Our Holkham Bay espresso blend currently consist of 1/3 ‘Don Alfonso’ Caturra Peaberry, 1/3 ‘Don Alfonso’ Red Obata, both Costa Rica, & 1/3 Finca Montes Urales, El Salvador. Holkham Bay is our house espresso blend at our coffee house, The Black Apollo, in Holt, north Norfolk.
The flavours we get in the cup are milk chocolate, vanilla and strawberry to give a sweet and smooth coffee.
These are the first beans we have bought from the famous Aquiares Estate in Costa Rica. These two special microlots are named ‘Don Alfonso’ after Don Alfonso Robelo, patriarch of one of the owning families of the estate who took over farm management in 1992.
The Finca Montes Urales beans are 100% Pacamara and have a distinct chocolate and strawberry flavour. Pacamara beans are desirable for the size and for their flavour.
We are extremely pleased with the result of this blend and it is going down a storm in our coffee shop. We hope you will love it too.
We find Holkham Bay blend is delicious as an espresso, long black or flat white, but equally as good with a more milky drink such as a cappuccino or latte.
We recommend an 18-19g dose with an extraction of 27 – 30 seconds.
