Gedeb is a really, really good coffee. Lots of flavour and good body. In our first cupping we got notes of caramel, peach tea, blueberry muffin and a bright but not overpowering acidity.
These beans are grown by smallholder farmers and then taken to the Lalesa washing station for processing. The beans in this lot were bought by Ephtah Speciality Coffee. Ephtah ensures quality at every stage of the shipment process, focusing on providing the highest quality green coffee beans and maintaining satisfaction among all stakeholders in the supply chain. Ephtah Specialty Coffee is dedicated to social and environmental projects. The company provides initial payments to farmers upon receipt of their coffee and supports them with quality premiums, second payments, and assistance with school fees. Future investment plans include expanding the Ama Commitment scheme, building a water tank for flotation, increasing the number of drying beds, and cultivating additional crops on the land to support local markets.
These are great beans to roast. We dropped the beans halfway through first crack so the roast is medium / light. The coffee has good body and plenty of flavour. We were really impressed when made as a filter and a chemex.
