FAZENDA ESTREITO

Estreito Farm embodies a rich history and a steadfast commitment to sustainability. Located in the south of Minas, Brazil, the farm covers a total area of 36 hectares, of which 10 hectares are dedicated to specialty coffee cultivation. The elevation is 1100 metres. The farm’s operations are rooted in sustainable practices and certified standards, incorporating methods such as integrated pest management and the use of organ mineral fertilizers. The property also maintains conservation areas larger than legally required, along with comprehensive plans for the protection of springs and local wildlife. Farmer, Lucas Natanael Moreira abandoned a mechanical engineering career to embrace his passion for coffee production. Under his leadership, and with the support of his father Antonio and two skilled collaborators, the harvest is performed manually due to the challenging terrain of coffee plantations on steep cliffs. Post-harvest, the coffee is naturally dried on the patio for three days before being transferred to a firewood-powered coffee drier, a process that has been refined since he began producing specialty coffee in 2016. The varietals cultivated on the farm include ARARA, PARAISO 2, YELLOW, CATUAI, ARANÃS, TOPÁZIO, RED CATUAI, YELLOW CATUCAI, and MUNDO NOVO. The farm has reputation for being a leading producer in the region, reflecting a blend of tradition and innovation in sustainable coffee agriculture.
