Our Latest Coffee
Our most recent arrival is a delicious coffee from Santa Barbara Estates in Colombia. Sr. Pedro Echavarria established a small farm, Finca San Pascual in the high Andes of Antioquia in the 1980s. He was attracted by the diverse microclimates, volcanic soils, perfect altitude and a tradition of coffee excellence in coffee production in the area. Sr. Echavarria quickly built up the farms reputation for producing great coffee and consequently the area under cultivation.
The estate now consists of five sister farms that lie across three neighbouring geographical regions, Santa Barbara, Fredonia and Amagá. Pedro’s son, also Pedro, now runs the estate and is constantly looking to improve the coffee and also to experiment with new varietals.
We think the coffee is amazing. Let us know your thoughts.
We love that the family always keep a donkey named ‘Pascual’ on the farm as a mascot. We wonder if Pascual likes coffee!
The taste notes we had on our initial tastings are: STRAWBERRY | ORANGE | CHERRY | RAISIN
